Cardano, connected.

LayerZero is live on Cardano. With it, USDT arrives on the network as USDT0, the omnichain version of the world’s largest stablecoin. Two integrations, one direction of travel: Cardano stops being an island. The same Cardano security, now with the liquidity, the assets, and the chains that the rest of the market already runs on.

Specialist Partner

LayerZero Labs, with Tether

LayerZero Labs owns the omnichain messaging protocol now connecting Cardano to 165+ chains. Tether issues USDT0 through LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token standard, the same infrastructure that has moved $70bn+ of value across chains since early 2025. The integration arrives under Cardano’s Critical Cardano Integrations framework. Three teams, one shared outcome: real cross-chain liquidity on Cardano, not theoretical.

What LayerZero & USDT Is

LayerZero is an omnichain messaging protocol. Instead of wrapping assets through a bridge with its own trust model, applications send proofs between chains using endpoint contracts deployed on each network. USDT0 is the omnichain version of Tether’s USDT, minted under the same standard. A 1:1 representation of USDT, with unified supply across every chain it lives on, including Cardano. No wrapped tokens. No bridge custodians.

Why It Matters

For years, the strongest critique of Cardano was its isolation: strong protocol, strong assurance, weak interoperability. LayerZero closes that gap. USDT alongside USDCx gives Cardano two tier-one stablecoin rails. Together, they unlock product categories Cardano builders could not previously serve: cross-chain DeFi, omnichain real-world assets, multi-chain payment apps. The protocol was always good enough. Now the connective tissue matches it.

What LayerZero & USDT Delivers

Direct cross-chain messaging between Cardano and 165+ other networks

Access to $80bn+ in omnichain assets and the 750+ tokens already running on the OFT standard

USDT, live on Cardano, with unified supply across chains and instant convertibility to the venues users already trade on

New routes for tokenized real-world assets, Bitcoin-backed assets, and any liquidity that previously had no path onto Cardano

What’s live/ what’s next

Where we are

LayerZero endpoint contracts are live on Cardano mainnet as of March 2026. USDT0 deployment is rolling out across Cardano wallets and decentralized exchanges, with deep liquidity pairs going live alongside USDCx.

What’s next

Expanded OFT support for tokenized real-world assets and Bitcoin-backed assets, growing the catalogue of cross-chain tokens routable to and from Cardano. Deeper integration into the Critical Cardano Integrations framework as more applications adopt the standard.
